Gunmen believed to be bandits have attacked nine communities in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing at least 50 persons.
It was gathered that the bandits also burnt several houses during the attack.
According to reports, some of the victims who sustained gunshot injuries were receiving treatment at Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital Shika-Zaria.
ASP Mohammed Jalinge, Police Public Relations Officer in the state confirmed the incident.
He however said the command is yet to compile the actual number of deaths recorded during the invasion.
