Terrorism and insurgency have become one of the major challenge’s in Nigeria, most especially in the northern part of the country, but the worrisome of it all is who really is to be held responsible for the Mass escalation of this evil action’s,
Its no longer a news that the President being the commander in chief of the arm force is constitutionally bond to protect life and properties of its people, but who really is to be held responsible.
Here are three bodies to be held responsible for the increase in crime rate in Nigeria;
THE GOVERNMENT
The government of the day have continue to show nonchalant attitude towards bringing an end to insurgency and terrorism in the state, their ability to be true to themselves and to its people, the ability to give adherence to the oaths taken before their triumphant entry into the position of power, the government of the day has never hide its disdain in eradicating insurgency by providing all necessary supports and fishing out the sponsor and root of the incessant insecurity facing the country.
Political parties have play vital negative role in escalating insurgency in Nigeria, political parties of all kind have use insurgency has one of its political point in wining its other political rivals, thereby playing politics with the life of the people.
Political parties in their quest for victory at the poll have use such opportunity in buying the conscience of the people to bring an end of terrorism thereby toying over the life’s of its people
SECURITY AGENCIES
The police, navy,army and other arm forces in the country has well contributed massively to the current rise of terrorists in the Nigeria. Yes, the Nigeria Police has the conventional responsibility to maintain law and order, provide protection and safety for individual and groups. These are parts of the duties of the ‘regular police’. ‘Regular police’ means the police that we all know, the police personnel that we meet every day as we go about pursuing our daily routines, the ones we see at the various police stations, divisions and zones all over the country.
The army and navy are not exceptional on this, But beyond those are the faceless, specialized, highly trained, heavily equipped police personnel that belong to the various Special Police Units of the Nigeria Police Force. In essence, they hide the Truth from the society, in combating terrorist and insurgency in the country the force’s fail to disclose who really are the backbone of such territories in their war front.
THE PEOPLE
It has been reported occasionally in many communities where terrorism persists that some people gives informations to the terrorists and supply them foods and other needs secretly thereby frustrating the effort of security agencies.
The masses are one of the voice which can’t be shut in the society, Nigerian a country bless with population and the youth has 73% of its total population play the leading role in escalating insurgency in the state,Youth is the future of the society. The young generation simply can overturn the current status of the society. When the youth contributes his ideas condemned in totality and provide ways to resolve the social issues, they becomes a capable leader and can also make a difference in flushing out terrorist in the country
They can change the future of the society with their well being and courageous behavior in bringing an end insurgency They are here to show us that which we have not been willing to look at within ourselves. Unfortunately today we find the youth those who are more interested in other places which are not useful to them as well as nation. They chooses to spend their days doing drugs and playing video games. they spends their nights partying and living it up, so to speak.
More and more young men of this age group are sitting at home in front of their televisions playing games all day instead of bettering themselves and the society on how to end insurgency, They have no vision and if they do have dreams they do not have the drive to make any attempt at achieving them.
We must get control of this. We must motivate our youth. We must teach responsibility and goal setting. I fear if we do not we will soon be supporting an entire generation of homeless and needlessly on welfare families. Things have to change, with our schools, with the older generation being to provide information in helping to eradicate this youth, with the older generation being mentors, and with the youth who are right now doing nothing
