A man has been arrested for for allegedly ”turning two children into yam tubers” on Friday, December 3, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The middle-aged man suspected to be a ritualist, consequently was set ablaze in Ibadan.
According to report, the man allegedly dropped a certain amount of money on the ground which the children reportedly picked and ”turned into two tubers of yam.”
In a video sent to DAILY GIST on Friday by an eyewitness, the man was tied with roped with two tubers of yam placed before him
The man while addressing Journalists said he does not believe human beings can be turned into a yam.
He was arrested by the angry residents of Ashi, Bodija, and Akobo for allegedly turning two students of Bashorun Ojoo High School into tubers of yam.
The incident occurred at the front of the school.
He was killed and set ablaze on Friday, sources told DAILY GIST.
DAILY GIST gathered that the man was arrested when it was discovered that he turned the students into tubers of yam.
All efforts made by the residents to prevail on him to turn the students back proved to be abortive.
The man, following the incident, was tied with ropes and interrogated.
His inability to provide concrete answers made the angry residents set him ablaze.
The remains of the suspect were later dumped at the front of the school fence.
