Following the #Endsars agitational protest by majority of the Nigerian youth, an unforgettable event has taken place in the southwestern part of the nation.

The End Sars protest which was seen to gradually come to light was first recorded as an online battering of words by grieved youth as a result of the brutal and unquestionable actions of the Nigeria police and its sub unit, SARS.

The agitations suddenly took its root to the street when some group of Nigeria celebrities supported the movement with their presence at some of these designated places for protest. Since then, the EndSars protest had taken the whole social media, tv outlets, including the involvement of reputable foreign artists and celebrities.

Seemingly, same aggrieved youth took the battle upon themselves to involve foreign bodies which includes the United Nation (UN), U.S.A and some corporate Human Rights Commission bodies.

The end SARS protest held more ground on Twitter media as it was also noticed that the CEO of Twitter who is known as Jack pledged his support for the movement by creating a Twitter logo in line with the EndSars hashtag that had trend for weeks on the same platform.

Amidst political, social and religious hijackers of the protest, the Nigerian youths continued with their formidable force including fellow Nigerians in diaspora towards the end of police brutality, and SARS injustice for years of unsatisfactory directives.

The protest continued for weeks with little actions carried out in favour to the demands of the leaderless end sars protesters until on the 20th of October, 2020.

The day started out just like other days since the beginning of the protest, it was a bright Tuesday that gradually turned sour by sunset.

At noon of that same day, workers in their safety vests and coverall were seen at the toll gate tampering with the security camera mounted at the toll gate. Had this young protesters known it was a bad signal, had it been they knew what fate was about bring on them, perhaps they might have seek safety to return the next day or thereabout.

As usual, they didn’t move a muscle to any form of distracting knowing fully well that a peaceful protest is the very right of an aggrieved citizen of any country. They stood their ground chorusing the national anthem while holding hands together upholding the national green white green up high.

It was at this time that the enemies of justice pulled the trigger of the same injustice these peaceful protesters were chanting against. At that moment, the peace mark of the raised green white green national flag was stained with the blood of the innocents, the peaceful chants turned to cries from the wounded. Unharmed protesters wail in frustration seeing their mate die before their very own eyes and was unable to do a thing. The only weapon they had was their voice and their cell phone which recorded every single deed that took place.

At the end of the strategic massacre, the bodies of the dead and the injured heros were left at the mercy of the dark night, and just like that the nation paid injustice with tons of injustices with no remorse for life wasted.

With the denial of death during the massacre, the Lagos State Governor had left the youths more grieved than they were when they started the EndSars protest weeks ago. Same way the President of Nigeria finally broke his silence with a fifteen minutes live speech last week Thursday omitting the Lekki massacre out from his brief talk.

Nigerian youths received this as a reaffirmation that the current Government of Nigeria has no reagrds for her citizens and would never come to their aid in times of a national crises like the EndSars protest and the Lekki massacre.

Amidst this, majority of angry youth took the mantle on themselves to forever remember these fallen hero every year marking the memorable date in red prints in the sands of time.
