The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has appointed new foreign coach for Super Eagles.
NFF on Tuesday announced the appointment of a German tactician, Bruno Labbadia, as the new coach for the Nigerian senior players.
Labbadia’s appointment, which takes immediate effect was disclosed in an early morning tweet on Tuesday via the NFF’s X handle.

The statement read, “The Nigeria Football Federation has announced that it has reached an agreement with German tactician, Bruno Labbadia, to become the Head Coach of Nigeria’s senior men’s national team, Super Eagles.”
“The NFF Executive Committee has approved the recommendation of its Technical and Development sub-committee to appoint Mr Bruno Labbadia as the Head Coach of the Super Eagles,” according to the federation’s General Secretary, Dr Mohammed Sanusi.
Labbadia becomes the 37th Head Coach of the Super Eagles after the resignation of former coach, Finidi George.
The team has been without a coach following the resignation of Finidi George after the poor performances in the World Cup qualifiers.
Finidi failed to win any of his first two games, the team played out a disappointing 1-1 draw against South Africa in Uyo before losing to Benin Republic 2-1 in Ivory Coast.
As a result of the poor results, Nigeria currently occupy the fifth position in Group C with three points from four matches.
