Nigerian $3x workers in Edo State have declared strike in an effort to show their displeasure over continuous increase in prices of goods and services in the country.
The Publicity Director, Association of Prostitute in Nigeria (APN), Edo State branch, Jennifer Osas made this known in a statement obtained by DAILY GIST on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the strike action will commence on February 28th, 2024
She noted that though the ongoing crisis within the association would not deter them from embarking on strike next week, but that they have resolved to express their grievances to the untold hardship under President Bola Tinubu.
She stressed that the high cost of living across the country has serious affected their patronage and that many of their members can no longer afford to take care of their families.
Furthermore, she affirmed that it became necessary to let the whole nation and world know what they have been passing through since the assumption of Tinubu’s administration.
While narrating how the strike action will be carried out, she said that unless something urgent is done to arrest the situation, they would move across major streets in Benin-City and eventually landed at the government house where they would address the state Governor Godwin Obaseki.
Meanwhile, effort to get copy of the letter to the Nigeria Police, and Department of States Security (DSS) proved abortive, as she claimed that they are yet to get respond from the security agencies for permission.
