One of the good things about the internet is that it’s such a great way to get into business for yourself. No matter where you live, as long as you have an internet connection, you can always make money online. In this post, we’ll be sharing some easy and legit ways to make money in dollars while living in Nigeria.

Earning in dollars while living in Nigeria has become a dream many people are chasing. With the incessant high exchange rate from dollar to naira, a few dollars could change your life for good in Nigeria and make you comfortable.

However, staying in Nigeria and earning in dollars doesn’t come easy. DAILY GIST takes a quick look at some ways you can earn in dollars while living in Nigeria.

1. FREELANCING: If you’re a good writer, you can apply to write for blogs, magazines, journals, and even newspapers that publish their content online and earn in dollars from the comfort of your home. Freelance writing is one of those online jobs that pays well because there’s a big need for writers, as more and more companies aim to provide quality content to their audiences. Besides excellent writing skills, you’ll need a passion for the particular niche you’ll be working in, like tech or fashion, for instance.

One of the top ways to earn in dollars or other foreign currencies is by freelancing or working remotely. You can get freelancing gigs as a writer, graphics designer, or data analyst on freelancing platforms.

2. APP DEVELOPMENT: As an app developer, your primary responsibilities include creating, testing and programming apps for computers, mobile phones, and tablets. App developers are the ones making most of the dollars. Every business owner wants an app for their business both home and abroad

3. VLOGGING: Vlogging or Video Bloggers create short online films on a variety of subjects. They may work for a video blog site or provide independent content on paid channels. The role of the Vlogger is to create inspiring and entertaining films on subjects such as current affairs, social issues, or comic relief.

If you can write or speak well, then you can also earn foreign currency from clients abroad who are interested in your written or video content. You should consider vlogging on YouTube and other platforms if you enjoy doing videos and have exciting and educative content to talk about

4. Online Tutor: Are you an expert in math, physics, or any foreign language? If so, then you can apply for online teaching jobs that require you to tutor students from all over the world and earn your dollars in cool.

5. Website Designer: If you are skilled at designing websites, you can work for NGOs, tech companies and many more companies online.  Companies that hire you will test your proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, UX, and CSS. With just a few skills and the ability to create eye-catching webpages, you could easily earn a good dollar income online.

6. Transcriptionist: One of the easiest online jobs is transcription. Transcriptionists have to listen to audio recordings and reproduce them in the form of text. This job also requires you to have great attention to detail and be incredibly fast at typing. While not the most popular job type, transcription can be a reliable income stream for someone with lightning-fast fingers. You could get as much as $20 to $30 an hour for transcribing short audios.

7. SEO Expert: A lot of companies online  are looking for individuals who can help improve their search engine ranking. To work as an SEO specialist, you must be good at building backlinks and optimizing the existing content of a website. Sometimes, direct experience in the field is preferred or required, but a relevant degree is not mandatory. As an SEO expert, you could earn $50-100$ in a day Job.

8. Chat Agent: If you’re willing to help people with their problems but don’t feel comfortable talking on the phone, you can work online as a chat agent. Chat agents offer customer support via text-based chat and are expected to take multiple queries at once. This could be an ideal job for you if you don’t have a private workspace or the majority of your day is spent in front of a PC. Hourly earning is around $12-20$

9. Graphic Designer: You could also specialize in graphic design and earn in dollars. Having well-designed graphics is essential for most businesses, but inexperience in Adobe Photoshop can put off most job seekers almost instantly. What you need to know is that not all companies require fancy designs, some require graphics created through basic tools like PicMonkey and Canva. If you have basic computer skills, you could easily learn how to use these apps and then apply for relevant gigs. Hourly earnings is between $30-$50

10. BLOGGING: Today, nearly 1000 websites are created every single minute of every single day. That’s a vast amount of data in the proverbial cloud. Yet with all of this content floating about the untethered net, the amount of quality-content sites, the type that many people visit on a daily basis, seem few and far between. Great content seems to be more of the exception rather than the norm.

You won’t immediately earn money as a blogger. Not in the beginning at least. Not unless you’re a social media star with millions of followers or a semi-celebrity that already has an audience or a platform. If you’re a so-called newbie, be prepared to experience some pain.

if you’re looking to start a blog and earn a respectable income as a blogger, there are certain steps that you can take to succeed and actually exit the rat race. But it won’t be quick. And it certainly won’t be easy whatsoever.

Many people start a blog with the goal of making money. This is a great goal!. Blogging can be hard work, but can provide you with tremendous results.

Expert bloggers tend to give you generic advice like write about your passions, stay consistent, form good writing habits, and create great content.

Then, a few years from now, you’ll finally have enough website traffic to monetize your blog with affiliate programs, Google AdSense, online courses, podcasting, or selling digital products. The hard truth is, it doesn’t have to take you years.

Below are some ways to earn in Dollars with your blog or website;

1. Google AdSense

Google AdSense might be the fastest and easiest way for a beginner to start earning passive income with a blog. The basic idea behind AdSense is that you can display Google Ads on your website and when a visitor clicks on those ads you get a percentage of the ad costs. You’ve certainly seen ads on other people’s websites; you can have these ads appear on your blog or website as well.

2. Amazon Associates

Amazon Associates is the long-established in-house affiliate program run by Seattle-based Amazon.com—the biggest online retailer in the world today. It offers bloggers the chance to earn commissions by advertising Amazon products on your website—provided visitors click-through from your blog to Amazon.com and make a purchase.

3. Affiliate Marketing for Digital Products

As I mentioned above, one of my favorite ways to make money on the internet is by promoting digital information products as an affiliate.

Just like Amazon.com is a marketplace of physical good sold on the internet; there are also marketplaces of digital products sold on the internet as well.

One of the most popular digital product marketplaces is Clickbank.com. You can search the Clickbank marketplace for products related to your marketplace and promote them on your website, write product reviews, etc

CONCLUSIONS

The demand for online jobs isn’t going to fade away anytime soon. And in an era where income is on the decline and traditional work policies change day-to-day, the opportunity to earn in dollars from the internet could be exactly what you need to stay sane. Whether your goal is to work part-time to build your savings or generate a full-time income while working from home, online jobs can provide serious flexibility that most traditional workers will never experience.

You can also earn in dollars working in Nigeria by learning new skills and selling your crafts online to those who need them abroad. If you are very smart about it, you can grow your wealth right here in Nigeria without setting foot on foreign soil.

Which of these online jobs appeals most to you? Let us know in the comments box.
