Social media influencers are users of one or more social media platforms who have large followers through the creation and sharing of information, ideas, career insights and a host of other helpful content.

They have made a name for themselves in certain niches or walks of life and therefore wield the power to affect the decisions of their followers whom they constantly engage with.

In choosing these top Social media influencers, DAILY GIST looked at different social media networks and picked the top on those platforms with number of quality and engaged followers. The list also cuts across different professions.

Below is a list of the top 20 biggest social media influencers based on quality followers and engagement on Instagram and Twitter.

1. Davido

Davido is the highest-ranked influencer in Nigeria.

He was ranked 53rd in the world on Instagram with over 20million followers.

According to reports, he earns around $128,300 per post, making him the biggest Instagram celebrity in Nigeria.

The popular Nigerian singer has just also attained 10million followers on Twitter.

2. Wizkid

Wizkid is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He began recording music at the age of 11 and released a collaborative album with the Glorious Five, a group he and a couple of his church friends formed. In 2009, Wizkid signed a record deal with Banky W’s Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E).

Wizkid has a total of 8.9million Twitter and 13.8 million followers on Instagram.

3. Don Jazzy

Don Jazzy  is a Nigerian record producer, Brand Ambassador, audio engineer, record executive, singer, entrepreneur, Influencer and Comedian.

He is the founder and the CEO of Mavin Records. Don Jazzy was co-owner of the defunct Mo’ Hits Records record label with Dbanj.
