Drama has brewed at Osun State Polytechnic, Iree when the suspended rector of the institution, Tajudeen Odetayo resumed back to office after months of suspension by Governor Ademola Adeleke
There was jubilation by the staff of the institution at the school premises.
Recall that Adeleke had suspended Odetayo over allegations of misappropriation of funds and abuse of office.
He was consequently replaced with Kehinde Alabi.
Following the development, the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP) leadership embarked on strike while accusing the governor of nepotism.
The union noted that should Odetayo be suspended, the deputy rector is the right person to replace Odetayo, not Alabi who is yet to be a chief lecturer.
Odetayo then approached the court to challenge his suspension by Adeleke. An injunction was granted to him for the status quo to remain pending the determination of the suit.
On Thursday morning, Odetayo resumed his office with court injunction.
