Suspected armed thugs have reportedly attacked the residence of Yoruba Nation agitator and activist, Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho.
One has been killed in the incident.
It was gathered that several others were injured in the attack that took place in the Soka Home of the pro-secessionist in Ibadan, Oyo state.
The incident was confirmed by Igboho’s lawyer, Yomi Aliyu In a statement made available to Journalists on Saturday.
According to him the thugs stormed the residence on Saturday and matcheted many loyalists and associates of Igboho killing one of them.
The cause of the attack is not yet known.
He noted that the thugss attacked the same house of the activist that the Department of State Services(DSS) attacked on July 1, 2021
It would be be recalled that on July 1, 2021, officers of the Department of State Security, DSS, stormed the residence around 2 a.m and engaged in a serious gun battle with Igboho and his associates.
Two of Igboho’s men were killed while 12 others arrested.
Igboho himself has been in detention in Benin Republic since 2021 after he was intercepted by security operatives while attempting to flee to Germany with his wife, Ropo, after being declared wanted in Nigeria.
He was remanded in prison for over 6 months where he is said to be facing trial for immigration-related offences, amongst others
