Men of the Lagos Police Command on Saturday have fired teargas to disperse protesters in Lagos protesting against Buhari government.
DAILY GIST reports that similar protests were being held in Abuja, Ekiti, Ondo, Oyo, Osun and States on Saturday.
Among their demands was the resignation of President Buhari.
According to them the president has failed in addressing the challenges in the country, including that of insecurity.
However, as the protesters continued their protest, heavily armed policemen stormed the scene and began shooting tear gas into the air to disperse them.
Police officers who had initially warned protesters to stay and protest at a location to prevent invasion by hoodlums suddenly turned violent and fired canisters at them.
In a video seen by DAILY GIST a male voice could be heard, saying, “This is an officer of the CTU (Counter Terrorism Unit) shooting tear gas.”
