The General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye has finally broken his silence on the death of founder of Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), late Prophet T.B. Joshua.
Adeboye reaction is coming following global condemnation of its silence among Christendom and several organisations in the social media.
Recall DAILY GIST reported that the Founder and Senior Prophet of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Temitope Balogun Joshua, popularly known as T. B Joshua, died on Saturday, June 5th, 2021
The death of Prophet TB Joshua came as a shock to a lot of people, especially his members.
Though founder of Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Prophet T.B. Joshua is dead, one thing that he took to the grave was that he was rejected in the Christendom in Nigeria.
Despite Joshua‘s exploit, the Christian bodies in Nigeria never accepted him, both the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN). To them, Joshua was simply an exorcist or a charmer and so on.
Joshua was reputed to have said that he was converted in his mother’s womb.
The likes of Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of Nigeria (RCCG), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, Bishop David Oyedepo and many others rejected Joshua until his death.
Adeboye, in 2009 said he would never go to Joshua’s church to minister for any reason whatsoever.
He was quoted as saying when asked whether he could worship in Joshua’s church, “No! Definitely not! If he wants me to come and minister in his church, we will sit down; we will discuss the issue of salvation the way I understand it, according to the scriptures.
“If we agree on that and he now wants me to come and preach the same message of salvation in his church, then I will go.”
To Adeboye, Joshua was never born again and so, he could not associate himself with him.
However, Pastor Adeboye has finally sent a condolence letter to Evelyn, wife of the founder of Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), late Prophet T.B. Joshua.
DAILY GIST gathered The letter which was dated 15th June, 2021 was secretly sent to T.B Joshua’s wife and it was not made known to the media and the general public until it leaked out.
Adeboye had been a strong antagonist of Joshua and he even said it some years ago.
Many top Christian leaders up till now did not condole with Joshua except a few of them.
In the letter addressed to Evelyn Joshua, Adeboye said he joined millions of people worldwide to register the church’s condolence with her on the passing of her husband.
He said he believed he would meet Joshua at the feet of the Lord Jesus on the resurrection morning.
The letter which was shared with DAILY GIST reads in full below:
“Calvary greetings in Jesus name. We want to join millions of people across the globe to register our condolence with you on the passing of your husband, Pastor T.B. Joshua.
“We take solace in the Lord, believing that we shall meet again at the feet of the Lord Jesus on the resurrection morning.
“We therefore, pray for you, your children and the entire church that, the Lord will uphold all of you and such untimely death shall cease in our midst in Jesus mighty name,
Be assured of our continuous prayers. Yours in Him. Pastor E.A. Adeboye, General Overseer.”
There are some controversies that went on about T.B Joshua during his lifetime. The cleric was heavily criticised due to the large number of miracles that happened in his Church during services. He was no stranger to controversies and condemnations all through his life.
For some, the charismatic preacher, who claimed to have healing powers from God, is controversial and fake while many also regard him as a true man of God.
It would be recall that in 2017, popular televangelist, Chris Okotie, accused Joshua of “shamanist practices,” But he did not, however, provide evidence to back up his claims.
Joshua was always seen by fellow pentecostal pastors and Christians as being unorthodox and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) denied the Synagogue Church membership.
In April 2021, YouTube suspended Emmanuel TV channel from its platform, accusing the cleric of hate speech after the T.B Joshua was seen in a video casting out ‘gay spirit’ from his congregants.
