A policeman has been shot during a gun battle between police officers, vigilante and some unknown Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Tuesday in Gwagwalada area council of Abuja, DAILY GIST has learnt.
It was gathered that at least four persons in the area were kidnapped during the attack.
Eyewitness narrated that it was hours of serious tension and panic among residents as both the police officers and the Gunmen shoot sporadically during the gun battle
According to a report, because the policemen were overpowered, the Gunmen reportedly succeeded in kidnapping at least four residents in the community.
It was gathered further that Police officer and a member of vigilante who sustained injuries in the incident have been taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
The Public relation officer of the FCT police command, ASP Maryam Yusuf has not reacted to the incident as at the time of filling this report.
