The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Tuesday has arrested former Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha.
The former governor was arrested at his private office in Abuja over money laundering, among other corruption allegation issues.
Okorocha is a Senator Currently representing Imo West Senatorial District.
Wilson Uwujaren, EFCC spokesman, confirmed the development but did not provide further details about the arrest
DAILY GIST gathered that an invitation was sent to the former governor before his arrest but that he failed to honour it
His arrest by the anti-graft agency on Tuesday is not the first time. EFFCC had in 2020 said it returned N2.7 billion recovered from Okorocha to the Imo state government.
Okorocha and Uzodinma, have recently lock horn in public despite belonging to the same political party, APC. Uzodinma had sealed some of okorocha acclaimed properties after accusing the ex-governor of corruption and personalising many state-owned properties.
