Senator Ademola Adeleke is no where to be found in the Governorship Primary Election Of Osun PDP Faction backed by Olagunsoye Oyinlola, a former Osun state governor
Dotun Babayemi won the parallel governorship primary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun state.
PDP members in Osun are holding Governorship primary election of two different factions
The Olagunsoye Oyinlola-backed faction held its primary on Tuesday at the WIDCOF event centre in Osogbo.
However, the result of the primary of the faction recognised by the PDP national working committee (NWC) is still being expected as counting and sorting of votes are ongoing at the township stadium.
DAILY GIST reports that Osun PDP Primary election commenced on Tuesday, March 8th.
In the last couple of hours, some of the top contenders have pulled out of the race. Akin Ogunbiyi, Fatai Akinbade, Dele Adeleke, and Sanya Omirin have all withdrawn from participating in the primary.
This leaves Senator Ademola Adeleke and Dotun Babayemi in the race.
All aspirants who withdrew from the primary of the party including the nephew of Senator Ademola Adeleke – Deji Adeleke had declared support for Babayemi.
Former governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola described the primary election at Osogbo Township Stadium which was recognized by PDP NWC as invalid.
Oyinlola dismissed the ongoing exercise at the stadium saying it is not valid.
“He is the person who will make Osun better. He is Dotun Babayemi.
Those of us here are the ones following the law and order,”
However, at the Osogbo Township Stadium, the National Working Committee is holding another primary election.
