A former presidential aspirant, Ahmed Buhari has backed former Senate President of Nigeria, Anyim Pius Anyim for 2023 Presidency
Buhari said Anyim is perfect to lead Nigeria in 2023, considering his records in the red chamber.
Buhari who disclosed this while speaking with Arise TV, made a case for a politician of Southern extraction to become Nigeria’s next president.
“South East is the only zone in the entire South that has not produced the president of Nigeria since the advent of Democracy in 1999,” Buhari said.
He added of Igbo aspirants: “But among all of them that have indicated interest in the presidency from South East, if given opportunity to choose, Anyim stands out.”
According to him, Anyim performance in the Senate as its president when the National Assembly was in turmoil, his stabilizing roles at that point, marked him out as one who could be entrusted with leadership.
Last week, Buhari, from Niger State, dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
