The presidency has revealed what the Popular Yoruba nation agitator and freedom fighter, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly called Sunday Igboho, must do to stop the Director of State Services(DSS) from hunting for him
According to presidency, Igboho need to submit himself to security agencies to get the DSS off his back.
Recall that DAILY GIST had reported how Ighoho’s house in Soka area of Ibadan, Oyo state was attacked at the wee hours of Thursday
The Department of State Services(DSS) confirmed that its responsible for the attack on Sunday Igboho’s house on Thursday
DSS spokesman, Peter Afunanya disclosed this in a statement made available to Journalists.
According to Peter, The raid was based on intelligence that Igboho had allegedly stockpiled arms and ammunition in his house.
But Igboho in a statement released by his media aide, Koiki on Friday night said the weapons paraded by the DSS as recovered from his house did not belong to him.
Igboho noted that the guns found in his house were ‘government magic stating that he used traditional power to protect himself instead rather than guns.
The activist added that there was no prior invitation sent to him by the agency neither was any search warrant used by the officers who invaded his home.
According to him, the invasion at his house was an attempt by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to silence him so the killer-herdsmen, whom he always antagonized, will take over the South-West region.
However speaking to TheNation, a presidential source said only the Director of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police Force and the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN) could determine Igboho’s fate
The Oluwo is one of those who are supporting the government and offering advice from time to time. We have read what he wrote,” the source said.
“But only the DSS, the police and the AGF can determine how Igboho’s case will be treated. They can decide his fate.”
A security source said: “It will be difficult to adopt a different approach for Igboho. Before the negotiation, he must first of all respect the law of the land by surrendering.
“He is promoting secession, which is treasonable. The question of peace talks is political. Let him honour security agencies’ summons before seeking refuge.
”Security agents recovered arms from his residence. We have some of his aides with us and they have made some revelations. He needs to come and clarify a few things.”
