Some suspected thugs in Lagos have come out to threaten residents over the anticipated nationwide protest against economic hardship in the country.
DAILY GIST reports that the protest is scheduled to commence between August 1 to 10.
In a video which has gone viral on social media, the people whose voices were only heard were chastising the market women and men to desist from the planned protest as it might lead to more destruction than that witnessed in the #EndSARS protest.
“Anybody that is confident should come out on Thursday to protest. Are you the only one hungry?
“If you dare come out for the protest, you will be mercilessly dealt with,” they said.
Earlier, Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, daughter of President Bola Tinubu, had asked traders in Lagos state to deter their children from joining the planned nationwide protest.
Tinubu-Ojo, who is the Iyaloja-general of Lagos, urged the women to ensure that their children stay at home, adding that the state government has made significant progress in enriching the lives of the people.
Citing the #EndSARS protest, Tinubu-Ojo said people are yet to recover from the losses incurred during the protest in 2020.
