Workers believed to be employed in the Ministry of Women Affairs have been seen celebrating the sack of Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye by President Bola Tinubu
DAILY GIST reported earlier that Tinubu had fired five minister in a major cabinet reshuffle on Wednesday.
Kennedy-Ohanenye was in charge of the ministry until Tinubu removed her on Wednesday in a cabinet reshuffle.
She was among five ministers who were sacked during the Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting.
Others are Lola Ade-John, Minister of Tourism; Jamila Bio Ibrahim, Minister of Youth Development; Tahir Mamman, Minister of Education; and Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo, Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development.
In a video shared on X by Abubakar Sidiq Usman, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, the workers could be seen dancing and jubilating in the corridors of their office.
Chants of “finally” could be heard as they celebrated the minister’s exit.
The footage captures the jubilant reactions of the employees, indicating a collective sense of relief and satisfaction regarding the leadership change.
The celebration raises questions about the internal dynamics within the ministry and reflects the sentiments of the staff toward Kennedy-Ohanenye’s tenure.
