A serious dramatic scene involving a man believed to be an Okada rider and the officials the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC has gone viral on social media.
In the video circulating online, the distressed rider, who stripped himself n@ked, can be seen standing on the bonnet of an FRSC van, pleading for the release of his seized motorcycle.
The incident reportedly occurred after FRSC officials confiscated the young man’s motorcycle and loaded it onto their van, intending to transport it to their office.
The rider, in apparent desperation, resorted to extreme measures, climbing onto the van’s bonnet and stripping off his clothes to protest the seizure of his only means of livelihood.
In the footage, the rider’s voice can be heard expressing his anguish, questioning why his primary source of income would be taken away amid a harsh economic climate.
The commotion quickly attracted onlookers and passersby, who sympathized with the rider and confronted the FRSC officials.
Onlookers expressed their discontent with the actions of the FRSC, accusing them of worsening the struggles faced by ordinary Nigerians.
One person in the crowd was heard saying, “Tinubu is doing his own, and now Road Safety is doing their own; we are the ones doing ourselves in this country.”
The tense situation escalated as the crowd rallied to support the distressed rider.
Eventually, with the intervention of bystanders, the rider’s seized motorcycle was forcibly removed from the van.
One of the FRSC officials could be heard urging his superior to “call the police” to manage the situation.
