In what is coming as a really tragic development, a student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomosho, Oyo State, has been shot dead during a sign-out celebration
The deceased, identified as Babalola Marvelous Ishola, was found lifeless by the roadside on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
The discovery followed a report received about a male corpse lying unattended near the road.
A team of security operatives were immediately dispatched to the scene, where the victim was identified through a search of his person.
The Dean of Student Affairs at LAUTECH also confirmed that Babalola was a student of the institution.
His body has been deposited at the morgue of the LAUTECH University Teaching Hospital for preservation.
Following the incident, police Monitoring Unit launched a sting operation which led to the arrest of sixteen suspects in connection with the shooting.
