A Chief Imam in Ikorodu area of Lagos, simply identified as Babalola has been apprehended along with four of his men with a human skull.
It was gathered that residents of Adamo area of Ikorodu, arrested Babalola and his men and handed them over to the police after they were allegedly nabbed with human skull and other parts of the human body.
The photo of the imam with the skull was posted on the X handle of a user, Uncle DejiTM.
In a video obtained by DAILY GIST showed the moment the man, garbed in native wear, was surrounded by residents and officials of the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps.
He was seen putting a human skull and other suspected human parts in a polythene bag as he bled from one of his eyes
The residents revealed that the suspects were apprehended on Thursday and were detained by the anti-kidnapping and cultist police unit at Araro Adamo in Ikorodu.
The Spokesperson for Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the arrest of Babalola and four others.
He commended the people of Ikorodu for not engaging in jungle justice and handing over the suspects to the police.
“We commend the good people of Ikorodu for doing the right thing and not yielding to jungle justice,” he tweeted.
