A video has resurfaced showing the moment Former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike said that he is not interested in becoming a minister after his tenure as governor.
In the video which has gone viral on social media, Wike was declaring that he will never be a minister of the federal republic of Nigeria.
Wike said, “Only one person can be a minister from a state, I will not be a minister. I will not. I am not a liability, Rivers State is an asset.
“So if you don’t want to win an election, it’s your business. I’m not the one running the election.
“He who wears the shoes knows where it pinches him.”
The video resurfaces following his appointment as Minister by President Bola Tinubu.
Wike was among the list of 28 ministerial nominees unveiled by the Nigerian Senate on Thursday.
Although his portfolio is yet to be revealed, it has been confirmed that the former governor will serve as a minister in Tinubu’s administration.
