The suspended minister of humanitarian affairs, Betta Edu has been denied access to President Tinubu following her suspension on Monday.

DAILY GIST reported earlier that Edu was suspended from office with immediate effect by the President following alleged N585m scandal in the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

The embattled minister has been under fire for allegedly approving the payment of N585,198 million into a private account of Bridget Mojisola Oniyelu.

The President also directs the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to conduct a thorough investigation into all aspects of the financial transactions involving the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, as well as one or more agencies thereunder.

It was gathered that Edu had visited Aso rock to seek audience with the president in order to discuss her suspension but she was denied entry.

She had passed all security checks but was blocked from entering the president’s office.
