Oba Owolabi Olakulehin will become the next Olubadan of Ibadan following the demise of Oba Moshood Olalekan Balogun.
DAILY GIST earlier reported the passing of Oba Moshood Olalekan in Ibadan.
Confirming the death of the monarch, Makinde, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, said Oba Balogun died at the University College Hospital, Ibadan.
He has been buried according to Islamic rights on Friday.

Oba Owolabi who is the current Balogun of Ibadanland is the next in line to the late Olubadan.
However, this will be subject to the approval of Governor Seyi Makinde.
Owolabi hailed from Okugbaja family, Ita Baale, Ibadan North East Local Government of Oyo State.
He became Mogaji in 1983, started climbing Olubadan ladder in 1986.
He was chairman, Ibadan South -East, Mapo.
He owns Olakulehin Printing Press and a bakery.
He is an ex-service man, because he served in the Nigerian Army.
In 1992, under the Social Democratic Party, SDP in the 3rd Republic, he contested and won the Federal House of Representatives elections.
His son, Sunbo Owolabi, was commissioner for water resources during the administration of late former governor Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi.
The next in line to Owolabi is Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State and senator, who heads the civil line as Otun Olubadan of Ibadan.
