Senate President Godswill Akpabio has filed a fresh lawsuit against suspended Kogi Central Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, accusing her of mocking him in a satirical apology posted on social media.

The lawsuit, filed at the Federal High Court in Abuja under case number CS/384/25 and dated May 7, seeks to compel the suspended Kogi Central senator to delete the post from all her platforms.

Akpabio is also demanding a written apology to be published in at least two national newspapers and an affidavit of compliance confirming she has met these conditions.

The satirical apology was shared on Facebook by Senator Natasha on April 27.

“Dear Distinguished Senate President Godswill Akpabio, It is with the deepest sarcasm and utmost theatrical regret that I tender this apology for the grievous crime of possessing dignity and self-respect in your most exalted presence…”

She continued, mocking what she implied were unwritten expectations of compliance, adding: “How remiss of me not to understand that my refusal to indulge your… ‘requests’ was not merely a personal choice but a constitutional violation of certain men’s entitlement.”

In a direct swipe at systemic sexism, she wrote: “Please find it in your magnanimous heart somewhere buried deep beneath layers of entitlement to forgive this stubborn woman who mistakenly believed that her seat in the Senate was earned through elections, not erections.”

Akpabio’s legal team, led by Kehinde Ogunwumiju, argued that Senator Natasha’s post was a violation of a court order issued on 4 April, which barred both parties from making public statements regarding ongoing sexual harassment allegations until the conclusion of the case.
