STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
You Talk. I Listen. I Serve I do not come to be Served as the Next Governor of Abia State of Nigeria. I, Ngozika Gladys
JOHNSON-OGBUNEKE, come to be the Number 1 Civil Servant in Abia State, to rebrand Abia State and redirect its trajectory of governance so that Abians can enjoy and participate in government.
As a Medical doctor, the health and the rights of access to healthcare by NDE Abia State will be paramount to me and my administration. I believe that Health is Wealth, AHUIKE BU UBA.
Also as a Human Rights Lawyer, and the next Governor of Abia State, I will thus not only
provide but also defend the rights of every citizen of Abia State of Nigeria.
It is my sincere hope to serve in Abia State and promote further, much progressive, resourceful and profitable growth in all sectors of governance and the government to make Abia State the NEXT London in the First 24months of my administration.
I come therefore with the background of these life exposures not to be served but to serve
Abians – to clean out the Government House, sweep the Streets, rebuild the School structures, grow more food in our farms, create more jobs for our Youths, provide great Healthcare services to our Men, Women and I come to clean Aba City and rebuild Ariria Market, as well as 8 other big Markets in Abia State. I come to return Aba as the Centre of Commerce and the Economic
Hub of South-East once again.

which for the past 31 years past governments have allowed such dilapidation and deprivation to NDE Abia.
1. HEALTHCARE & HOSPITALS
– High Maternal Mortality Rate, MMR (10% above National average)
– High Infant Mortality Rate, IMR (18% above National average)
– High Childhood Mortality Rate, CHR (12%)
– Neglect of the Aged
– Not enough Hospitals
– Dilapidated General Hospitals Infrastructure
– Lack of medicines in Govt. hospitals
– Lack of Doctors, Nurses and other Health professionals
– Lack of pipe borne clean water supply in the cities and villages
– Menace of water borne diseases like typhoid, dysentery and worm
parasitic infestation among school children

situation of gender based

women) with focus on women of domestic and
community violence.

Reformation of the Criminal Justice System to the
extent where it is not only punitive but also
rehabilitative, reducing recidivism and helping exprisoners to be socially re-integrated into the
society and grant them the dignity to live better
again.

Increasing the Workforce in the Judiciary so that the Magistrate and High Court Judge are not over worked nor burnt out but will remain sharpened in mind and focus to deal with justice and legal cases
before them
11. PAYMENT OF WORKERS ARREARS &
PENSIONERS ARREARS
1. The School Teachers in Abia State are being owed
an upwards of 18 months salaries in arrears.
2. My administration and I will make it a priority to
pay off these arrears within 10 months in office.
3. In many civilised parts of the world, pensioners are
highly appreciated and looked after. In Abia State
so far Pensioners are being treated with contempt
and owed their gratuities.
4. My government and I, will pay off these pension
arrears, grant them free Healthcare and accesses to healthcare, as well as assure them of regular care at the nearest Community Healthcare Centre
in their localities.
By first 24 months of my administration, no Teacher or Pensioner or Civil Servant will be owed in salaries or their pension grant
