The Ghana Education Service (GES) has suspended Assistant Headmaster (Academic) of KNUST Senior High School, Ghana, Mr. Charles Akwasi Aidoo, for allegedly indulging in immoral conduct with a female student on camera.
A viral video shows a female student holding Aidoo’s head close to her bosom, while he plays with the student’s nipples.
The student seemed to have done the recording in what appears to be Aidoo’s office.
GES’ Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, said the service viewed the incident with the utmost seriousness.
He announced that the Assistant Headmaster had been barred from entering the school premises while investigations continued.
Fenyi said the service was committed to safeguarding the integrity of the teaching profession and ensuring the safety and welfare of students under their care.
He said Aidoo had been prohibited from going to the school throughout the investigation.
The Service urged stakeholders to trust that the right thing would be done and due process would be followed.
Fenyi said disciplinary action would be in accordance with the GES code of conduct.
He said the service was committed to professionalism, discipline, and child protection across all schools.
The PRO said the service “strongly condemns any acts that compromise the safety, dignity, and well-being of students.”
