Wema bank Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer(CEO), Ademola Adebise has revealed why the bank appointed Nigerian singer, Adeleke David popularly known as Davido as its brand ambassador.
According to the CEO, the appointment was in line with the bank’s strategic repositioning efforts and its youth-centric focus
Adebise lauded Davido for his work and generosity, noting that it takes a genuine altruist to do what he did by giving away all the donations he recently received out to orphans.

Speaking on the brand ambassadorship and his association with the bank, Davido said, “I am excited to join the Wema Bank family and look forward to the great things we will achieve together.”

His friends and celebrities didn’t disappoint as they have come to his rescue sending him a whopping millions in hours.
Davido however donated all the money he received during the challenge to orphanages in the country.
Davido noted that he received 200M from fans and friends and added 50million
He donated N250million to all orphanages across Nigeria.
The singer made this known in a statement issued on Saturday, November 20, 2021.
In addition to the 200 million naira received, he made a personal donation of 50 million naira, bringing the total amount of money to N250 million, to be distributed to orphanages homes across the country.
He constituted a five-person committee to oversee the distribution of the money.
The singer also revealed that he intends to do a fundraising every year to celebrate his birthday and give back the donation to the poor.
He received all the donations via his Wema account which prompted the banks team to meet the music star while he was in Dubai.
Consequently, Davido was unveiled as an ambassador of the digital bank on Friday
