The Lagos State Police Command on Monday has reacted to a trending video where Chidinma, alleged Killer of Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of Super TV, Usifo Ataga made a u-turn on the murder allegation levelled against her.
In the trending video, Chidinma had said she did not did not kill Ataga as she earlier claimed when she was paraded by the police.
DAILY GIST had reported how the Lagos State Police Command arrested Chidinma for allegedly killing the Chief Executive Officer, Super TV, Usifo Ataga, in the Lekki area of the state.
While being paraded by the police, Chidinma had said she killed while he was trying to force himself on her.
Chidinma a 300-level student of Mass Communication, said she had been in a romantic relationship with Ataga for about four months before the ugly incident.
Chidinma while addressing Journalists said she and Ataga were “having fun” when an argument broke out and she stabbed him twice.
She had sought forgiveness, saying she did not want to die.
“I regret killing Mr Ataga. I don’t know what my future holds but I don’t want to die. Please, I don’t want to die because of this case. I have not killed before.”
“I totally regret everything I did and I am sorry. Mr Ataga’s family, I am deeply sorry for what I did. If I had my life back, I wouldn’t do anything like that. I am deeply sorry and I hope you forgive me,” Chidinma had said at the time.
But in a video which is currently in circulation on social media, Chidima said she knows nothing about Ataga’s death.
“I didn’t injure anybody. I don’t know who must have come into the apartment ,and did that… I don’t know who that person is. I don’t know what happened. I did not kill him,” the suspect said in an interview.
She, however, admitted that they spent time together, drinking and smoking before he died.
However reacting to the trending video in a statement made available to Journalists, The Lagos State Police Command on Monday dismissed the trending video.
The Spokeperson of Lagos Police Command, Muyiwa Adejobi noted that the interview was an old one and should be debunked.
He said whatever was said in the video would not change the facts the police had gathered on Ojukwu as the prime suspect in the murder of Ataga.
Muyiwa even said it was fake news, but with information contained in the video, it was shot after the parade of Ojukwu by the police.
The question is who conducted the interview when the girl is in detention? How come Ojukwu was corporately dressed in the interview? What is fishing? What kind of conspiracy is going on?
