A fresh incident reported to DAILY GIST on Monday has indicated that some Masquerades on Sunday have attacked Muslim Worshippers inside mosque in Osun while praying.
DAILY GIST gathered that the incident occurred at Oluode aranyin area of Osogbo, the state capital of Osun on Sunday
According to an eyewitness who spoke to DAILY GIST, the masquerade worshipers stormed the area around 3pm and started shooting sporadically at the Muslims at their worship centre, Kamorudeen Central Mosque in oshogbo.
DAILY GIST could not immediately ascertained the actual cause of the attack but some Muslim Worshippers alleged that the masquerade and their followers under the protection of the police reportedly walked past the mosque before they returned and descended on them with stones.
During the attack, it was gathered that one person identified to be the leader of the organisation in Iwo, Osun State, Moshood Salawudeen was shot and gave up the ghost on the way to hospital
While others about 12 that sustained injuries are currently receiving treatment in hospitals.
A Toyota Camry car and mosque windows were also destroyed during the attack.
The Police Public Relations Officer in Osun, SP Opalola Yemisi confirmed the incident to DAILY GIST and promised to release more details later to the general public.
