A 41-year old man, identified as Mr. Nonso Amaefule, in Lagos State has been arrested and charged in court
He was arraigned for allegedly fondling the br3@$ts of his neighbour’s 13-year old girl, ins3rting finger into her priv@t3 p@rt and d3f!ling her in the process.
DAILY GIST reports that the incident happened at Ajegunle Street, Onipanu area of Ilupeju, Lagos, where they reside.
The suspect, Amaefule, was said to have lured the girl into s3× by f0ndling her br3@sts and ins3rting fing3r in her priv@t3 part, which caused the victim to become confused and unable to resist him.
He reportedly forcefully p3n3trated her on the floor of his room in their compond when her parents were not around.
The victim later regained her senses and revealed what happened to her parents and the matter was reported to the Police at Ilupeju Division.
The suspect, Amaefule, was then arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
And during interrogation, he denied the allegation of d3filem3nt while the survivor alleged her pants were forcefully removed and forcefully had s3× with her.
The Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for statutory r@p3 under the Criminal Laws of the State, which attracts several years of imprisonm3nt or life imprisonment.
However, the Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice because of the nature of the offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Layinka, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional centre at Kirikiri town, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be made available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
