A Nigerian man, identified by the nickname Eti, has unknowingly ordered his wife to capture his last moment on earth in Ogere-Remo, in Ogun State.
The video shows the man wearing only boxers working in a shed while his wife stood at a distance videoing him.
Suddenly, he staggers backwards and holds on to the stands of the shed for balance. Then, he falls to the ground and dies.
Another video joined to the original one shows the moment the body of the deceased was brought out for burial, wrapped in clothes.
Yet another clip shows a candlelight procession held for the deceased in the community. He was said to be popular in the community.
The video was posted on TikTok by a user who claimed to be the son of the deceased.
According to his caption, his father told his wife to come out to the shed with him to record him cleaning it.
He reportedly meant to send the video to his business partner to let him see the stress he went through alone cleaning the shed meant for housing cows.
Eti is said to be a butcher and worked with a man with whom they purchased cows and fed them before slaughtering them.
Apparently, the job of cleaning the shed used by the cows had become the lot of Eti, and he wanted his business partner to realise the efforts that went into keeping the shed clean.
This is believed to be a means of getting adequate compensation for what he had been doing without due reward.
The son, who used the handle @Call_me_Rich_kid, said it was not the first time he had done the recording and sent it to his partner.
Unfortunately, this particular one turned out to be the moment of his departure from earth, and it was captured for his children and the entire world to see.
The son wrote: “The person recording (the) video (was) actually his wife. He asked her to record the video for a business partner, not realizing it would be the last. This isn’t the first time she’s done this for him. He died instantly💔”
The video has since gone viral and has been attracting lots of comments. Most simply commiserated with the family of the deceased, especially the son who uploaded the video.
Others had harsh words for the person who did the recording. They believe the person should have helped Eti when he slumped instead of recording.
The son of the deceased has responded to the criticism by explaining again that the recording was the wish of the deceased.
He wrote, “You better stop (cursing) the cameraman. (It) is not the cameraman’s fault. He (the father) was the one that told the cameraman to video him so he (could) show the video to those people way get the farm because the work is (too stressful). That (was) why he said the person should video him 😭💔😭😭 Abeg no (curse) cameraman oooooooo 😭🕊️🥺🥺😭😭”.
Resident claims Eti was a victim of a supernatural attack
A resident of Ogere Remo, Wonuola, has also added her own perspective to the narrative.
Wonuola, a tailor by profession, said the community accused another resident of Ogere Remo of sending a spiritual attack to kill Eti.
This, according to her, was because Eti and the man had fought the previous day, during which he had allegedly cursed the deceased that he might not see the next day.

“This happened at Ogere Remo. I know the man. He (sold) meat at the tollgate, Ogere. He had a fight with one of his fellow business partners, and he (cursed) him that he might not see the next day which he later died that next day and people said he (was) the one that killed him. That person named Eti allegedly told his wife to record video for him to show the person that they are both rearing cow that he is the only one that is cleaning the yard. The video was supposed to serve as (proof) of cleaning the place, not knowing he (would lose) his life on that spot. RIP”.
