A member of the national youth service corps recently deployed to Kebbi state has slumped and died at Dakin Gari NYSC orientation camp.
The serving corpers was identified as
Tayachibiyacha Ebal with code KB/24C/918.
DAILY GIST gathered that the corps member was immediately rushed to the camp clinic for medical attention, after which she was transferred to the Federal Medical Centre Birnin Kebbi for advanced medical attention.
She however did not make it out alive, and died, despite efforts made by doctors to resuscitate her.
The Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Kebbi State, Alhaji Muhammad Fingila who confirmed the incident to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi, said that her remains have been sent to her home state Adamawa.
Fingila who described the incident as unfortunate sent a condolence message to the grieving family on behalf of the Kebbi government
“Consequently, I want to use this medium to pay a condolence message to His Excellency and all our teeming youths, on behalf of NYSC and the Kebbi State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, on this irreparable loss,” he added.
“I further appreciate the effort and financial support by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, which helped in facilitating the burial arrangement by both the ministry and the family of the deceased.”
