A 36-year-old man accused of attempting to r@pe a minor in South Africa has been found m@sturbating in his room by the police.
Police were summoned by a frantic mother who revealed that her stepbrother had tried to rape her 12-year-old daughter.
The police said today, Wednesday, August 27, 2025, that the distraught mother announced that her daughter had been ill and did not go to school.
She said the daugther was recovering at home with her uncle, who is her (the mother’s) stepbrother.
The mother said the minor was in the kitchen when the suspect approached her from the back and spun her around.
He then proceeded to rub his crotch against hers and asked to have sex with her.
The minor reportedly fled the kitchen, ran into her room and locked herself up. She rebuffed several entreaties from her uncle to open her door.
When her mother arrived from work, she narrated what had happened to her, and she called the police.
When the Reaction Officers arrived at the suspect’s apartment in a block of flats in Ethekwini, KwaZulu-Natal, they found him watching pornographic material on his phone, while masturbating inside his room.
The police men took a picture of him and requested him to dress up. They subsequently handcuffed him and took him into custody.
The RUSA said he had been handed over to the Verulam South Africa Police Service (SAPS) in KwaZulu-Natal.
