A vehicle conveying prisoners to the State High Court on Thursday hit a commercial minibus in Osogbo, Osun state.
The incident cause a palpable tension as two persons were reported to have been injured in the process.
According an eyewitness, the driver of the minibus and a woman sustained head and leg injuries before they were rushed to the Osun state university teaching hospital.
He explained that the minibus was on its way when the correctional vehicle which was trying to beat the traffic light rammed into the bus and hit it.
The incident, according to report immediately sparked violent protest, as commercial motorcyclists and some angry youths blocked the popular Olaiya Junction in protest.
It was gathered that the operatives of the Nigerian police drafted to the scene dispersed the protesters, with teargas while normalcy is being returned in the area.
