‘Born In 1958, Started School In 1959?’ — Fresh Controversies Raised Over New CJN, Ariwoola’s Credentials

The Director of Information of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Dr. Festus Aweneri, has revealed the actual age of the new acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN),Olukayode Ariwoola

Contrary to what is being circulated online, he disclosed that Justice Ariwoola, was born in 1954 and not 1958

Aweneri also stated that the new CJN started his primary school education in 1959.

The clarification by Aweneri comes amid controversies about Ariwoola’s age, with a Wikipedia page of his biography indicating his year of birth as 1958 as against what is contained in his official records.

Now, the Supreme Court has cleared the air on the contention.

DAILY GIST reported that Ariwoola, who is the most senior Justice of the Supreme Court, was sworn in hours after the resignation of the former CJN Mohammed Tanko.
