The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has announced the arrest of one Ahmed Tailor producing Russian flags for protesters in Kano state.
Ahmed was alleged to be the sponsor and distributor of Russian flags to protesters in Kano State.
Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, stated this in a statement made available to DAILY GIST and other Publishers on a WhatsApp platform
According to him, Ahmed Tailor was arrested with seven Russian flags in the state
Adejobi said, “Ahmed Tailor arrested in Kano today with seven more flags. He is one of the sponsors of treasonable felony, flying Russian flags and calling for anarchy in Kano, Nigeria at large.”
Ahmed and several youths using the flags in protests have been taken into custody for interrogation.
DAILY GIST reported earlier that some #EndBadGovernance protesters are seen flying flags while calling for the Intervention of Vladimir Putin.
The waving of the foreign flags has been sighted particularly in Kano, Katsina and Plateau states
The development comes after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu warned protesters against being used to promote an unconstitutional agenda.
“Let us work together to build a brighter future for ourselves and for generations to come. Let us choose hope over fear, unity over division, and progress over stagnation.
The economy is recovering; Please, don’t shut out its oxygen. Now that we have been enjoying democratic governance for 25 years, do not let the enemies of democracy use you to promote an unconstitutional agenda that will set us back on our democratic journey. Forward ever, backward never!” he had said.
