The Security Department of the Obafemi Awolowo University(OAU) has announced that it has commenced a special operation to ensure that no crime or criminality is conserve and perpetuated throughout the examination period on campus.
This was contained in a statement released by the Chief Security Officer of the institution, Babatunde Oyatokun and forwarded to DAILY GIST on Saturday.
The statement reads; “The Security Department of the Obafemi Awolowo University has commenced a special operation to ensure that crime and criminality isn’t perpetuated during the Examination period.
”This was necessitated using historical data showing that petty thefts were usually on the increase during exam period mostly from outsiders who come to prey on students going about their diligent studies while they are lost in the preparation of their exams. It is to this end that we want to employ all students to go about with their ID cards or any means of identification and report any suspicious face to forestall any attempt that some unscrupulous elements may be planning to steal from our students.”
We also reiterate our commitment to collaborative efforts as we are appreciative of the reports we have gotten in time past which has aided our investigations to achieve more results; if you see or observe something of security value pls inform us.”
We also want to assure stakeholders of the University that the security department will do all in its power to keep the school safe as it has always been.”The statement ended.
