One of the major commercial banks in the country, United Bank for Africa (UBA Plc), has announced its decision to close some of its branches nationwide earlier than the normal closing time.
The bank, which made this known in a mail sent to his customers and seen by DAILY GIST on Thursday noted that the move is to ensure the security of its staff and customers.
The mail, which was seen by did not however list the affected branches and the new closing time.
It reads: “Notice of Early Closure, Dear customer, Please be informed that some of our branches will now close earlier for the safety of our customers and employees. Our digital channels will remain available to you 24/7.”

DAILY GIST reports that this is the first time the worsening insecurity in the country is forcing a major commercial bank to review its closing time nationwide.
Before now, the high cost of diesel has forced some banks to adjust daily work hours.
