Gunmen suspected to be bandits have attacked Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
According to report, three students were shot by the terrorists while one was abducted and whisked away to unknown destination.
The abducted student was simply identified as Ajoke, an ND ll student of Science Laboratory Technology.
The institution’s Rector, Dr. Justina Anjiode-Kotso confirmed the incident at a press briefing on Tuesday.
It was gathered that the incident occurred in the late hours of Monday.
The students, who sustained gunshot injuries, were said to be receiving treatment in a hospital.
The students who were shot are identified as Freedom Luka and Ogwuche Janet, both students pursuing HND I in Public Administration and HND II in Business Administration and Management respectively. Additionally, Danladi Nicholas, who is seeking admission, was also affected.
Anjiode-Kotso, who was represented by Mr Louis John Ogah, the Deputy Rector Academic, said the matter had been reported to the security agencies in the state.
According to him, investigation into the ugly development is ongoing to ascertain the true situation of the incident.
He added that security operatives were on the trail of the abductors to ensure that the victims were rescued unhurt.
Te Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Nasarawa State Command, DSP Ranham could not be reached for comment on the incident as of press time.
