The Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has broken his silence on the crisis trailing the Olubadan of Ibadan stool.
Makinde spoke on Wednesday in Ibadan, the state capital while playing host to Muslim faithful who are members of his cabinet at his residence.
He said there is no rancour whatsoever on the Olubadan Chieftaincy laws in the State.
He warned those whose stock in trade is to fan the embers of discord to desist in the interest of the State.
The Governor also who said he was yet to receive any official communication from the Olubadan-in-Council on nomination for the stool.
He wondered why some people were focusing on things that divide the State along traditional lines, saying there’s no place for that under his watch.
On Tuesday, DAILY GIST reported that Otun Balogun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Abimbola Ajibola stated that the Olubadan-designate, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, is still ill and not physically fit to rule for now
It could be recalled that the stool became vacant after the demise of the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, who reigned for two years and died at the age of 81.
He said the Olubadan-designate should be given time to get well before he is pronounced or crowned as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadan.
