The Nigerian government has announced delay in the payment of January salaries for all civil servants across the country.
In a statement issued by the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, it said the salaries will not be paid anytime soon
The statement titled “DELAY IN THE PAYMENT OF JANUARY 2024 SALARY” was obtained by DAILY GIST on Wednesday.
It reads: “We wish to inform you that January 2024 salaries will be delayed beyond normal.
As at today the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation is still working on finalizing the 2024 Appropriation on the GIFMIS platform and as a result the Pe rsonnel Warrant for the month of January 2024 is yet to be released.
The same sit uation applies to all MDA’s and not just the Centre. We regret the inconveniences c aused by this delay.
Please let us continue to exercise patience as we await a positive resolution by th e OAGF.”
