Laide Bakare, a famous face in the Nigerian film industry has been appointed as aide by the Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke.
Adeleke appoints Bakare as the Senior Special Assistant on Entertainment, Art, Culture, and Tourism in the state.
The actress announced the appointment on her Facebook page on Thursday evening, February 22, DAILY GIST reports
She expressed gratitude to the governor for the appointment.
Bakare shared photos of herself taking selfies with the governor at his office, radiating excitement and gratitude for the opportunity.
She wrote;
“NOW AN HONORABLE ya Allah I am grateful. To my New Boss GOVERNOR ADEMOLA JACKSON ADELEKE Imole Osun. Thank you so much for the trust and opportunity to serve. I promise to deliver my Best.
“So help me GodSENIOR SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO THE GOVERNOR OF OSUN STATES ON ENTERTAINMENT, ART, CULTURE AND TOURISM. Lot of work to be done.

The appointment is coming hot on the heels of her joining the bandwagon of entertainers who initially threw their weight behind Bola Tinubu’s presidential bid, only to openly criticize him for the ongoing economic struggles in the country.
In a video posted on her social media, she decried the state of the nation, adding that Nigeria has never been this bad before.
She urged Tinubu to look into the state of the nation. “It’s actually not a happy new week. Abeg which way to go? @officialasiwajubat pls look into the state of the nation, Nigeria has never been this Bad #stateofthenation #Nigeria,” the caption of her video read.
