The All Progressive Congress, APC has declared the Governorship primary election in Ondo state as inconclusive.
The development comes after receiving reports from the 203 Wards in 18 Local Government Areas of the State.
This was contained in a statement signed by the chairman of the Ondo State APC Governorship Primary Election Committee, Usman Ododo
Ododo, the governor of Kogi State said logistics issues caused the materials and staff to arrive later than expected, which prevented the activity from taking place in the affected local government.
Ododo said that starting at “noon on Sunday, April 21, 2024,” the primary election will take place in each of the 13 Wards of Okitipupa Local Government, with a total of 9,515 validated registered voters. Following this, “the final collation of the results will be done” and the winner will be declared.
The governor of Ondo state, Lucky Aiyedatiwa who is in early lead in the election and fifteen other candidates are contesting for the ticket of the party.
The 15 other candidates, include: Olusoji Ehinlanwo, Jimi Odimayo, Jimoh Ibrahim, and APC National Vice Chairman (South West), Isaac Kekemeke, the incumbent is running for reelection on the party ticket.
In addition, there are two female candidates, Funmilayo Adekojo and Funke Omogoroye. Others are Wale Akinterinwa, Olugbenga Edema, Chief Olusola Oke (SAN), Olamide Ohunyeye, Morayo Lebi, Oladiran Iyantan, Prof. Francis Faduyile, and Mayowa Akinfolarin.
