DAILY GIST reports that Oyo state Governor, Seyi Makinde on Saturday joined and addressed some Buhari-Must-Go protesters in Ibadan while driving back home along Bodija area of Ibadan, Oyo state.

The youths who marched from Mokola to Sango area and chanted “Buhari must go” said President Muhammadu Buhari had failed and must leave for those who are capable of leading a country as complex as Nigeria.

The protesters had told the security operatives that they were ready to die for the betterment of the country.

Among their demands was the resignation of President Buhari.

According to them the president has failed in addressing the challenges in the country, including that of insecurity.

Makinde shocked the protesters when he drove himself to the venue with little security to address them.

Clad in a brown attire, governor Makinde emerged amidst cheers and loud praises.

In a video made available to DAILY GIST on Saturday, The governor could be seen addressing the hundreds of protesters who stormed the streets of ibadan to express thier dissatisfaction against Buhari government.

During the encounter, the Governor appealed to #Buharimustgo protesters to give peace a chance while promising the Government’s support to make life meaningful for them.

Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr Taiwo Adisa, told Newsmen that the convoy of the governor ran into a barricade made by the protesters at the Oshuntokun Junction and the governor had to step down from his vehicle to address them.

Adisa explained that the governor would not run over them, adding that Makinde calmed them down and appealed to them not to be violent.

A video clip that went viral on social media showed Makinde where he used a megaphone to address the protesters. But the video clip did not really capture his speech that could have been transcribed.
