The brink security situation in Nigeria has now become very worrisome as the country has lost over 700 eligible and promising Nigerians in the past few weeks due to killings by Bandits, Fulani Herdsmen, Kidnappers, Boko Haram, Armed Robbers and also including Cult related killings in the country.
One will want to presume that, it is either President Muhammadu Buhari has lost it in handling the security situation that we currently find ourselves in the country, or, it is a script that is being acted all over the country, maybe by some mischief makers who pursue their own unrighteous interests. Nigeria as it stands is no longer safe because of the horrible insecurity everywhere in the country and this is the time when the president is urgently needed to show his political will in decisitoly addressing this dire security situation which poses immense danger on the continual existence of the country.
Unfortunately, Where it is alleged that some groups in the country are involved in particular wrongful acts most especially IPOB, whether it be true or not, President Buhari will be quick to launch offensive attacks without proper investigation on the unarmed agitators who we all know are doing this because of the feelings of marginalisation from the Federal Government. Nepotism and religious bigotry has set Nigeria on the brink of collapse if nothing is drastically done by the Buhari Led Federal Government.
The President needs to be reminded that Nigeria remains an indivisible entity and State. This is because, When it comes to issues involving the South, one will see Vice President Osinbajo speaking and when it comes to other issues involving Buhari and his loyalist who have been widely perceived as extremists, one will see Garba Shehu speaking on behalf of the president.
Buhari has shown great sympathy for Fulani herdsmen and those extremists with the aim of Islamizing Nigeria. Action they say speaks louder than words. What Nigerians want from Mr. President is not just rejigging the security architecture in the country alone but to show full commitment to the Nigeria State by speaking out empathetically just the way he spoke during the “End Sars” Protest that helped to douse the energy of those who have hijacked the peaceful protest.
President Muhammadu Buhari should live up to the expectations of Nigerians who voted for him in 2015 due to the security challenges in the country during the time, i am not unsure they sincerely thought as a retired Army General, he out to possess the best clues to tackling and resolving this huge challenge which had suffocated the country.
History will not forgive President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC if anything unsavory happens to our dear country. I hereby call on the president to show that he is for Nigeria and Nigerians by rising up to the security occasion by taking all the positive & necessary steps that will force an end to all the unwarranted happenings in the country by *_declaring a State of emergency on security_* in the country for the betterment of Nigeria.
