DAILY GIST had earlier reported that the former Big Brother Naija housemate, Rico Swavey, died on Thursday from injuries sustained in a ghastly motor accident.
A video of nurses recording the deceased instead of attending to him in his unconscious state has sparked serious outrage on social media and attracted condemnation from members of the public.
In the clip recorded by one of the nurses attending to Rico Swavey, the deceased was placed on oxygen as he was unconscious on a chair.
In the video, the nurses were seen laughing and gesticulating instead of attending to Rico who was dying.
Some of the nurses making the video can be heard laughing before being prompted to stop and attend to the dying patient.
Another nurse was heard cautioning her colleague against the act.
“You people should stop making the video; somebody is dying, you people are making video,” the nurse said.
Reacting, the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said the state government had commenced investigation on the incident.
He said, “That hospital is not a government hospital; we have started an investigation into the unprofessional conducts of those who appeared in that video.”
