Based on the quality of scientists, best universities in Nigeria has been announced.
The University of Ibadan (UI), University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), and University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) have emerged as the top 3 best varsities in Nigeria based on the quality of scientists.
AD Scientific Index, a leading global ranking body based in Turkey made the announcement in its 2021 world scientist and university rankings.
According to the list, UI ranked 19 in Africa and 1,350 in the world while UNN occupied the 25th spot in the continent and 1,522 globally.
UNILORIN was also ranked 41 in Africa and 1,941 in the world. The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) came fourth while the University of Calabar (UNICAL) was named the fifth-best varsity in Nigeria on the ranking.
AD Scientific Index said the ranking “reveals the competency of institutions to attract prized scientists and the ability of institutions to encourage advances and retain scientists.”
Harvard University made the top spot on the list globally while the University of Cape Town was ranked the best institution in Africa.
