Statisense has released a list of most followed politicians in Nigeria on X, formerly known as Twitter.
In its latest ranking for 2024, Former vice president of Nigerian and PDP presidential candidate in 2023, Atiku Abubakar has emerged as the most followed politician with 5.19 million followers.
Buhari emerged as the second most followed Nigerian politician on Twitter with 4.62 million followers.
Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, who gained more followers after declaring his desire to run for the country’s number one seat on the platform of the Labour Party is now the 3rd most followed Nigerian politician, with 4.5 million followers.
After amassing more followers In the run-up to the 2023 presidential election, many would expect the candidate with the backing of the Obidient Movement would be the most followed Nigerian politician.
According to Statisense data, former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is Nigeria’s fourth most followed politician with 4.28million followers.
Also making the list of 20 most followed Nigeria politicians include Dino Melaye the governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party at the governorship election in Kogi state, former Kaduna lawmaker Shehu Sani, former Senate president Bukola Saraki, ex- president Goodluck Jonathan, former Kaduna state governor Nasir El-Rufai and President Bola Tinubu
